Design for silk fabric, probably for a tie. The design was made some time between 1947 and 1965 by Oskar Ehrenzweig, a designer who was born and trained in Vienna, but who moved to London in 1938. The pattern has the appearence of a web, made of interlaced fabric strips. It is painted with great precision in gouache on paper.
