Textile design, probably for silk tie fabric. The design was made some time between 1947 and 1965 by Oskar Ehrenzweig, a Vienna-born designer who moved to London in 1938. The design is for a fine printed fabric, but it imitates the appearence of a woven fabric. It was painted with great precision (it measures only 75mm square) in gouache on paper.
