Place Of Origin |
Textile design, probably for silk tie fabric. The design was made some time in the period 1947 to 1965 by Oskar Ehrenzweig, a designer who was born in Vienna in 1906 but who moved to London in 1938. The abstract design is very small (75mm square) and highly finished, so that it gives the impression of being printed - but in fact it has been painted with immense precision and delicacy in gouache.
