A note on the box the objects were given in states: 'presented to T.C.R. Davies by his father [illegible] T.G.D. Davies in 1870.' Below this is written in blue ink: 'among effects of Mrs. B.C. Barron(?) daughter of T.C.R. Davies'/

Historical context note

Probably published to celebrate the famous charge of the Cuirassiers in the Battle of Wörth during the Franco-Prussian War, August 1870.
