See through puzzles

Puzzle
1972 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Four plastic picture puzzles. Each puzzle consists of three transparent overlays printed in primary colours to be fitted into a tray. The transparency allows different sequences of overlaying when making the picture puzzle. The child thus discovers the different hues and tones of colour of the picture, and also the basic principles of three colour process printing. The tray is a white plastic dish with a flower shaped based. Each puzzle consists of three flower shaped clear plastic sheets, one with a red design on it, one with a blue design, and one yellow. When placed on top of each other in the dish, a picture is formed: a bird in a tree, two people in a car, a boat and a person jumping.
