Projector

ca.1910 (made), ca.1935 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Lantern-style projector, black-painted metal with a cable and a plug for electricity. On one side is a hinged door that can be opened. At the front is a cylinder into which the slides are placed, and which then projects their images. A cylindrical chimney for the lightbulb fits onto to the top of the lantern. There is a spare lens and double plug.

Included are a number of slides. Five are Walt Disney, each of them has six square pictures and is bound all around with orange paper: 'Pinocchio'; 'The Night Before Christmas'; 'Mickey Crusoe'; 'Donald Duck in An Alpine Adventure'; 'Pied Piper'. The rest of the slides have four circular pictures, and are bound top and bottom with pink paper. These show: images of a circus; foreign countries; Saint George and the dragon; Grace Darling and the lifeboat; Old Dame Trot and her Pig. Many of the slides have boxes and leaflets which tell the stories.

There are two paper-covered wooden boxes for holding the slides.
