Artist/Maker
Place of origin

The cutlery pattern was named after the French passenger jet plane, Caravelle, which SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) had acquired. The pattern was extremely popular. It won a gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1957 and in 1963 it won Koppel the prestigious Der golden Löffel (the golden spoon) award. Caravel is based on the same principles as Koppel's hollowware: smooth, with no ornamentation, but full of character.
