Object history
Bought from Jean Lamprell Ltd (RF 79/54) as part of a group of 77 pairs of footwear for a total price of £500 (notional price £6.49 each). It was said by the vendor that all the footwear in this group had originally come from a single source: a long-established shoe retail firm where any unsold stock was removed to the ample storage space on the premises, and only finally disposed of when the business finally closed.
