This is a plaster cast of Corinthian capitals and entablature, one of four plaster casts made by the British Museum casting department using ex-V&A moulds dating from the early 1900s in the Doric, Ionic, Corinthian and Composite style. They were made in 1991 for display in the Ornament Gallery of the Museum.
The order as show here is close to the type published by Vignola in 1562. The decoration of the Corinthian entablature varies a great deal, but here, as often, it uses both bracket-like modillions and the block-like dentils.
