This toy monkey was probably made for the donors brother in the 1940s. It was made from a mass-produced instruction pack called Leach's Knitted Toys. This design was No. 130 in the series, and contained a knitting pattern for the monkey toy.

The toy is called Jacko and he is has a dark brown body and red claws. His ears and tail have been sewn onto the body, which has been stuffed with kapok. Jacko is wearing a pair of pajamas made from blue and white striped cotton.

Physical description
This monkey was handmade of dark brown and cream wool. The claws are embroidered in red wool and the facial features are embroidered with black wool. He has two ears sewn to the back of his head and he has a long tail. He is wearing a pair of pyjamas of dark blue and white striped cotton material. The toy is stuffed with kapok.
