This one-sided decorative plaque depicts the scene from the Old Testament in the Bible where Moses the prophet comes down from Mount Sinai to find the Israelites in a frenzy, worshipping an idol in the form of a golden calf made from their ornaments. Moses, who has just received the tablets on which the Commandments are written, is angered by their idolatry and subsequently destroys the idol.
