1979
This is a set model for a large-scale staging of Britten’s haunted opera about corruption and innocence. It used a raked floor, which extended over the orchestra pit, to bring the action close to the audience. Silver-grey shining surfaces projected onto the set allowed the location to shift to different parts of the gothic house and gave it the appearance of being vast.
Opera by Benjamin Britten
