This butter knife forms part of a suite of tableware designed by Kay Bojesen, Silversmiths, Copenhagen. Most of the suite was designed in 1938 but several additional pieces were designed at a later date. The design became entitled "Grand Prix" when it was awarded a "Grand Prix" at the Milan Triennale of 1951.
