Physical description | Knee length red silk dupion dressing gown. The dressing gown is open at the front with wide lapels at the collar. It can be secured with a matching red silk belt (S.1398A-1984) for which loops have been added at the proper right front opening and at the waist of the proper left and proper right side. A further, self fabric, 'hanging loop' has been added to the interior of the collar. The dressing gown is largely plain but large pockets have been added at the base of the proper left and proper right front, with an additional, smaller pocket added to the proper left chest of the garment. This pocket is decorated with the initials 'N.C.' which have been embroidered in white cotton. The dressing gown is unlined and there is no maker's label. |
