Brief description
Tie-dyed silk dress and collar with beaded appliqués, with black silk belt, made by Prada, spring/summer collection, 2004
Gallery label
Label for the exhibition: "The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014" DIP-DYED SILK DRESS Prada, Spring/Summer 2004 Silk with beaded appliqué Fashion cognoscenti have adopted Miuccia Prada’s jolie laide aesthetic as an urban uniform. Even as her design choices contradict convention, they simply result in further devotion. This silk dress deliberately counters tradition by using a made-at-home technique – dip-dyeing – for a high-fashion garment. GIVEN BY PRADA V&A: T.221:1 TO 3-2004(05/04/2014-27/07/2014)
