Artist/Maker
Place of origin

In 1866, this knife was dredged from the Thames at Queenhithe, London. The wood is in suprisingly good condition. The rust has been removed from the blade, revealing pitting. It is possible to see the crystalline structure of the steel in the lines along the blade. This is usually only seen when the steel is shaped by heating in a forge and hammering.
