Physical description

Copy in tempera [watercolour?] of a long pointed compartment of tiles, forming a portion of the decoration of the dome of the Tomb (Yeshil Turbeh) of the Sultan Mahomet I (1413-1421) at Broussa; it is painted with a pattern of interlaced strapwork and scrolling stems with leaves and flowers. There is also a spandril and an ornamental panel of marble carved with a pattern of a similar character from the 'mihrab' or niche in the Green Mosque (Yeshil Jami) at Broussa, built in 1420 by Sultan Mahomet I.
