Physical description

Full-length, three-quarter face portrait miniature of Louis XVI of France, standing in a park-like landscape. He wears a powdered wig tied at the back with a black ribbon, a lace frill and cuffs, a slate coloured coat bearing the star of the Order of the Saint Esprit, a buff waistcoat, black breeches, mauve gaiters, grey stockings, and shoes with black buckles. In the distance are figures around a large fountain. Signed 'H. F.'
