This necklace was designed and made by Francis Ramsay in Chipping Camden, an area with links to the Arts and Crafts Movement since C.R. Ashbee moved there in 1902. It was owned by Arthur and Georgie Gaskin, a successful husband and wife team of Arts and Crafts jewellers based in Birmingham. The Gaskins were known for their delicate, hand-made silver jewellery in the form of flowers and leaves sprinkled with gemstones. The design of this necklace shares some of these characteristics. It was exhibited at the Royal Academy's Decorative Arts Exhibition in 1923.
