Production
The view is a capriccio. The minaret is that of the Mosque of al Hakim, and the dome that of the Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan, both in Cairo. A version of the image, entitled 'Mosque du Sultan au Caire' illustrates V. Fournel, 'Les Artistes Francais Contemporains', Tours, 1884, p.381.
