    Object history
This print is one of six illustrations from a small book entitled Russian Ballet, which was published by Hendersons Bookshop, 66 Charing Cross Road, London, in 1919 (also known as The Bomb Shop). The book commemorates the return of the Russian Ballet, under Diaghilev, and the lithographs were accompanied by text, printed from hand-lettering, also by the artist. Bomberg printed certainly some, if not all, the copies himself, using up to seven printings. The edition number is not recorded, nor are the copies signed.
