La Flute

Dress
1924 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

The 'Garçonne' look dominated women's fashion during the 1920s. Drop-waisted dresses hung from the shoulders in straight lines flattening out the contours of the bust. Shorter hemlines exposed more of the leg and bobbed and shingled hairstyles created a boyish appeal. These simple garments provided plenty of scope for creative embroidered, appliquéd and printed designs.
