Artist/Maker
Place of origin

The scene of quails on a riverbank carved on this lidded vase is as charming as a painting. The craftsman who made the vase demonstrated that he was capable of achieving a high level of naturalism with a carving knife, in the same way as a painter achieved with brush and paper.
