The Architectural Museum, Canon Row
About 1855
The Architectural Museum was founded in 1851 by a group of professionals in the field. It had a study collection of medieval casts and ornaments for the benefit of students and architects. The collection was later displayed in the South Kensington Museum (now the V&A) and in 1916 many of the objects joined the permanent collection. [56 words]
