Physical description

Portrait miniature depicting Henrietta Maria, Queen of Charles I, with dogs. Full-length figure of a lady with brown eyes and brown hair. She is wearing a white dress with blue bodice. Her left hand supports a yellow wrap and rests on the pedestal of a column. In her right hand she holds a feather fan. At her feet are three dogs. On the right is the end of a balustrade and above it a glimpse of a landscape.

Object history note

An inscription at the back states that "these portraits were in the possession of Queen Charlotte, at Frogmore, and the sale of her effects were described as having come out of the cabinet of Louis 14th".
