Object history
Costume for the male dancer in the pas de deux of Frederick Ashton's ballet 'Les Patineurs' originally performed by the Vic Wells (now Royal) Ballet, Sadler's Wells Theatre, 16th February 1937. The music for the ballet was composed by Giacomo Meyerbeer, and the scenery & costumes were designed by William Chappell. The ballet was revived by the Sadler's Wells Theatre Ballet at Sadler's Wells on April 23rd 1955.
