Object history
Shri Nathji, or Krishna, is an incarnation of Vishnu, the preserver and the maintainer of the established order in Hinduism. The emblem of Lord Vishnu, the vishnupada, or "feet of Vishnu" are on the other. Entry in the acquisition register says that the "Designs (two) on the front and back of the above armlet, drawings, illuminatied, by the native designer".

Purchased from J. Watson & Son, 10 South Molton Street, London, W. This acquisition information reflects that found in the Museum records (Asia Department registers and/or Central Inventory) as part of a 2023 provenance research project.
