Place of origin |
Poster promoting the NS Frauenschaft (National Socialist Women's Association), and appealing for donations for the kriegswinterhilfswerk (war winter welfare organization). A woman, wearing dungarees stands in the centre of the poster, with a young boy standing in front of her. Her fists are clenched, and her face is in shadow. Behind her, to the right, is a shadowy figure of a German soldier. On the left of the poster is a group of geometric forms, like square-topped pyramids. Above these shapes is the slogan, printed in red, in a font resembling Theuerdank Fraktur, 'Die Frau in der inneren Front!' (women at the inner, or home, front). Below the image, in the same font, but printed in black is, 'Die NS.-Frauenschaft, sammelt vom 22. bis 29. Februar für das kriegswinterhilfswerk'.
