Tapestry woven wool, twill tapestry,
Made from several pieces, at least six. Black ground with a dense pattern of left facing botehs in offset rows with undulating stems running between the botehs from lower right to upper left. The stems have a light blue ground with red, white and orange details. The botehs have a broad outline which is orange at the bottom where it contains green leaves and then changes to light blue with green, red and yellow. The botehs are identical and contain a pair of yellow leaves pattered with a stem of blue flower heads, a downward pointing carnation and a larger upward pointing red and blue carnation. The tip of the boteh contains a spray of four blossoms and a small grey leaf.
Warp: black wool, S-twist
Weft: dark red, red, blue, light blue, orange, green, black and white wool, all S-twist.
Synthetic purple and magenta threads indicate a date after 1860. It was the sleeve of a loose robe.
