Place of origin |
Cloth of linen damask, woven with a design of the Immaculate Conception and Incarnation.
From top to bottom :
Gideon kneeling by the fleece with a nearby inscription, figures in point repeat separated by a plant bearing three roses with a nearby inscription, an inscribed fountain, the Virgin with a unicorn resting its forefeet in her lap with a nearby inscription, a marked gate before which stands Gabriel blowing a horn with seven hounds and seven nearby inscriptions, Moses removing his shoes before the burning bush and an inscribed star.
The scene with Gideon starts again at the bottom of the cloth. The cloth is complete between selvedges, with chequer board edges outside a narrow double border of floral meander. Satin of 5.
