A large rectangular shaped shelf, or bracket, made from carved wood, with the central portion carved into eight registers of squares and rectangles, separated by cusped divides. The shelf is painted entirely with patterns of radiating red, yellow, black and white stars and geometric motifs. Along the top of the shelf is a band of carved and painted colonnaded balustrades.
