| Object history | Costumes purchased from the English National Opera costume sale, 1996: S.3:1 to S.12:2-1998. This and the other costumes in this purchase were selected with the help of the English National Opera wardrobe staff. They were chosen as striking and spectacular examples of costume making, characteristic of their period and representing different techniques used to interpret a designer's work. They complement the costumes previously bought from the ENO in 1993. This costume was worn by Loraine Gill as Curacao in the 'Traumbild' Fantasy, in the premiere of Richard Jones's production of Johann Strauss's operetta, Die Fledermaus, English National Opera, 1991. |
