This relief representing the head of a lady was probably made in the first half of the 18th century France. This is thin, flat and drilled at the back for mounting.

Physical description

Carved oval mother of pearl relief depicting the head of a lady, in profile facing left and wearing the plumed helmet of Minerva. The lady has earrings and her dress is quilted over the shoulder. The arm is bare. The relief is thin and flat, drilled at the back for mounting.
