Physical description | Convex octagonal mother of pearl relief probably the lid of a box. The left hand lower corner is broken away. Carved in high relief is a depiction of the Crossing of the Red Sea. In the foreground Moses, with his rod, and Aaron, behind them the ark is borne by priests, on the right a group of mothers and children. In the background on the left Pharoah's host is overwhelmed, on the right is seen the Israelite army in the hills. |
