Bronze plaquette from a box or inkstand, Germany, 1570-80
Physical description
One of a set of three bronze plaquettes from a box or inkstand. On the left a triton fleeing turns to his right and thrusts a stake or trident with both hands into the open mouth of a dolphin. Above other monsters and a turtle. Concave at the top and bottom with plain borders.
