Under Soviet rule, special attention was paid to what was called the "new Soviet body." The physical ideal for men and women was to be healthy, wholesome and athletic. To achieve this goal, even work days in the labour yards began with morning exercises. This poster exploits the "feel-good factor" with bright colours, smiling faces and athletic equipment associated with fun and diversion. Even the sun is rendered in a playful way, referencing the kind, sweet faces of painted Russian dolls.
