This dress was part of Gianni Versace's spring/summer 1994 haute couture collection, presented in Paris. In this collection, as in many others, Versace created glamorous outerwear that was overtly inspired by lingerie. This very short mini-dress is made of crushed silk with an embroidered lace yoke and a section of smocking across the midriff that falls into sunray pleats. There is a slight A-line kick at the hem that adds fullness and fluidity of movement to the skirt.

Physical description

White silk mini dress with two sets of shoulders straps, one of which crosses over at the back. Lace inserts at bodice, beaded smocking across midriff and fine pleating down centre front of skirt. Side zip closure.
