Place of origin |
This statuette is probably representing Diana. The classicizing style of this figure, along with its nineteenth-century provenance from Florence, suggest that it was produced in Italy. On acquisition Longhurst thought this piece to be Italian of the sixteenth century. Although reminiscent of this time, the figure is likely to date from the mid-nineteenth century. The object was formerly in the Possenti Collection at Fabriano.
