Object history
This miniature was in the collection of C. W. J. Blackett; sold at Christie's 9 July 1968 (Lot 72, repr. in catalogue). The sitter was the daughter of Eliab Harvey and wife of Montagu Burgoyne (1750-1836), politician and younger son of Sir Robert Burgoyne. A miniature of him by Langdon was in the same lot in the above sale.
