Object history | In February, 1919, Roger Fry organised an exhibition of Larionov's sketches and theatre designs at the Omega Workshops. The exhibition, and Fry's article in the Burlington Magazine, 1919, helped to publicise Larionov's designs for the Diaghilev ballet 'Les Coutes Russes'. It was presumably in response to both these events that Larionov sent the present work to Roger Fry, whom he did not meet until 1920. |
