Bronze medal commemorating the inauguration of Les Halles Paris in 1857. On the obverse a bird's eye view of the 'Halles Centrales de Paris', above which Mercury and Ceres are flying; 'Pose de la Premre pierre MDCCCLI. Inauguration MDCCCLVII. Battard et Callet architectes.' On the reverse a tablet with the inscription, surrounded by various symbols. Signed 'Bovy'.
