Object history note

This illustrates a scene from Jerusalem Delivered (Gerusalemme Liberata) by Torquato Tasso. Collins produced a series of illustrations to Tasso, now lost, which were engraved by a number
of artists, including Paul Sandby and E. Rooker. The plates may have been published posthumously, since the dedications to patrons were made by Elizabeth Jane Collins and not by the artist himself. Other engravings from the Tasso series are in the V&A and British Museum.

Descriptive line
