Glove puppet of a Gentleman with carved and painted face and hands, and hair made from artificial fur fabric. There are several areas of paint loss on the face, and areas of the hair are missing. He wears a long black double-breasted jacket in wool fabric trimmed with six pearl buttons and a decoration in his lapel, with a checked wool fabric waistcoat in grey, fawn, cream and brown, trimmed with five small pearl buttons. He has an off-white ruffled linen shirt with an artificial diamond tie pin, a black bow tie made out of braid, and navy and white hounds-tooth checked trousers. His wooden shoes are painted black and there is a long black sleeve to conceal the Professor's arm
