Object history
Costume for Cinderella in Act I & III of Frederick Ashton's ballet 'Cinderella'. The ballet, with music by Serge Prokofiev and designs by Jean-Denis Malclès, was first performed by the Sadler's Wells (now Royal) Ballet, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, 23rd December 1948. The original cast was led by Moira Shearer, Michael Somes, Frederick Ashton and Robert Helpmann.

The ballet was re-designed by Henry Bardon & David Walker in 1965; again by David Walker in 1988; and by Toer van Schayk & Christine Haworth in 2003.
