Plaque in soft-paste porcelain moulded in relief with Susannah and the Elders. Octagonal. In the centre, Susannah sitting with clasped hands below the branch of a tree. To the left, one Elder standing with his right hand behind his back, the hilt of his sword visible at his left side. To the right, the second Elder, bearded and wearing a flat cap, leans forward with his left hand extended in argument against Susannah. Plain unglazed back.

Plaque in soft-paste porcelain moulded in relief with Susannah and the Elders. Octagonal. In the centre, Susannah sitting with clasped hands below the branch of a tree. Acquired as Italian, mid-18th c. Reattributed to Longton Hall, Staffordshire. Reattributed to Richard Chaffers' porcelain factory, Liverpool. Reattributed to Vauxhall. See References, below.
The design is after Paulus van Vianan. Compare the lead plaque V&A A.5-1913 signed by Paulus van Vianen and dated 1617. The design was used again by the van Vianens on silver.
