Title as appears on verso of E.11-1992 which is a duplicate. This title slightly differs from the one on the verso and the one published by the Michael Stevenson gallery, where the work is entitled: 'The commando of National Party supporters that escorted the late Dr Hendrik Verwoerd to the party's 50th anniversary celebrations, De Wildt, Transvaal (North-West Province), October 1964'. The expanded caption by the gallery gives this additional information: 'The middle horseman in the front rank is Leon Wessels, who later became Deputy Minister of Law and Order in the National Party Government. He was also the first senior member of that party to apologise for apartheid'.
