Glove puppet of a peasant lady with a painted papier maché head attached to a torso of white cotton. She has a painted face and features, black button eyes, and burgundy silk corded hair bound with a blue ribbon embroidered with a flower-pattern. She wears a white cotton fichu, crossed over at the back, and white cotton peasant sleeves. The dress is of burnt orange cotton, the skirt permanently pleated with a band of green petersham bordering the hem, under which is an off-white calico flounced underskirt in two tiers, with attached bum-roll. She wears a black silk apron edged with black machine lace and a silver bead necklace. Her hands are of padded pink cotton
