China Machado, Jimmy Moore, Hiro and children, fashion by L’Aiglon, Chinatown, New York
American Harper’s Bazaar, 1964
Sieff captures a fleeting moment in the lives of passers-by. The only figure who appears to be consciously posing is the woman in the ornate phone booth. Yet the two men are Sieff’s fellow photographers, James ‘Jimmy’ Moore and Yasuhiro Wakabayashi, known as Hiro, who began their careers by assisting Richard Avedon.
