Place of origin

The Italian-born, London-based Fanelli is a well-established illustrator. She has been nominated for and won several illustration awards, including the V&A Illustration Award. She creates prints, book illustrations and collages.
This book work is a limited edition silkscreen print, in four colours. It was inspired by Pierre Albert-Birot’s novel Grabinoulor (1921). The text is the basis for the lettering on the cover, accompanied by illustrations within the book. Fanelli uses the his chapter on parallels and perpendiculars, she says claiming that it has absurd, yet logical irony. This book is an interesting example of Fanelli’s work, and demonstrates her skills as an illustrator, printmaker and book designer.
