Woman's longyi (lower garment) cloth of plain woven and dyed cotton and synthetic blend. With a red body, and the lower portion with horizontal stripes of blue, black, green, yellow and black. The warp ends would have been stitched to form a tube. The longyi tube is worn folded in a large pleat to one side. The excess cloth is tucked in at the waist.

Obtained by the donor while travelling in Burma in 1987. Cloth made by the Indha of the Inle Lake area of Shan State Burma.
Historical context
Made by the Indha of the Inle Lake area of Shan State. The colour scheme is typical of the cloths worn by Shan women.
